This active subwoofer does more than supply power to its own bass driver. It also effectively fires the five satellite speakers that are connected to it for a full and powerful sound. More than just a subwoofer, the US 8112/1 SW is the central power source for the entire 5.1 loudspeaker ensemble. This high-end master of dynamics and depth boasts amazing performance data: 300 watts, 28 Hz low end (-3 dB), a 300 mm bass driver and efficient, extremely high-performance as well as low noise class D amplifier. The bass driver has been professionally optimized with Klippel measurements for maximum excursion, low distortion, and powerful levels for precise bass you can feel. All settings and connections can be accessed at the back of the subwoofer: Line-in interface for connecting an A/V receiver, volume regulator, phase switch, auto level regulator and HP (high pass) filter that can be adjusted to prevent a range of frequencies between 30 and 70 Hz from passing. This can help eliminate droning in rooms that have not been acoustically optimized. Thanks to a construction that includes a recessed in-built amplifier and angled adapter plug, the subwoofer can be positioned directly against a wall. The resonance damping stand feet give the subwoofer a stable foundation. The US 8112/1 uses Teufel’s proprietary Air Stream Bsss Technology. Air exits the vents in bass reflex enclosures pretty quickly at resonance frequencies. This can lead to wind noise which can interfere with music and movie enjoyment. Air Stream Bsss Technology is a way of shaping the vent so that the subwoofer can emit very deep and loud levels without any resulting wind noise. The US 8112/1 SW is only available as part of a Teufel set.
